As much as we all hoped for better conditions, current snow levels remain dismal, and without a solid base, trail conditions are simply not safe for our dogs or mushers.

We were able to assess the trail and several critical areas are down to gravel or have only a few inches of snow with no base underneath. We have been closely monitoring extended weather forecast models for some time now and, unfortunately, have very low confidence that conditions will improve enough to ensure a safe course. After careful consideration and consultation, the difficult decision was made to cancel the 100-Mile and 300-Mile races.
The Warm Lake Stage Race is still under observation, with updates to follow. We encourage everyone to continue making plans to head to Warm Lake to cheer on this incredible group of mushers and their amazing teams. We want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has invested their time, energy, and dedication into making this race possible. While the distance races aren’t in the cards this year, the heart of this community remains strong.
We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2027.

The Running of the Idaho Sled Dog Challenge (ISDC) includes three races: a 100-mile, 300-mile and the Warm Lake Stage Race, a two-day 52-mile sprint race. The premier event is the 300-mile race, one of the only three Iditarod qualifiers in the lower 48. Many participants who run the 300-mile race also compete in the Rocky Mountain Triple Crown, allowing them to qualify for the Iditarod in a single year.  Participating races include Oregon’s Eagle Cap Extreme, the Idaho Sled Dog Challenge, and Montana’s Race To The Sky.
