The Payette River Scenic Byway extends along Idaho 55 from the junction of Idaho 44 west of Boise, north all the way to the city of Cascade and the Lake Cascade Recreation Area. Driving time is approximately 1-1/2 hours from Boise along the beautiful Payette River canyons and gem-like valleys. The byway is open year-round and provides access to guided rafting and kayaking, camping areas, snowmobile and mountain biking trailheads, the Boise and Payette National Forests and so much more.
